In Nebula Aurorae - Polifonico di Ruda in concert - Musica in villa 2025
For the 2025 Musica in Villa season, on Thursday, July 31, the Ruda Polyphonic Choir, directed by Fabiana Noro, will perform at the parish church of San Giuseppe in Castions di Strada. The concert, beginning at 8:45 pm, is titled "In nebula aurorae," based on the first scene of Kentaro Sato's opera, Arbor Mundi. The concert program—featuring Matteo Andri on piano, Chiara Trentin on cello, and Gabriele Rampogna on percussion—will continue with a wide variety of compositions by late twentieth-century and contemporary composers. Music by Alessio Domini, Renato Miani, Giovanni Sollima, Remo Anzovino, and Eric Whitacre will be featured, as well as Randall Thompson's Tarantella, an extremely demanding vocal and rhythmic composition in the repertoire of very few choirs in the world. Catalan folk music will also be featured, with the Cant dels ocells, a version for choir and cello curated by Maestro Daniele Zanettovich.
The Polifonico—fresh from a highly acclaimed performance of "Messaggeri" at the 2025 edition of Mittelfest, alongside the Arearea Dance Company and artist Maria Elisabetta Novello—has completed recordings of Renato Miani's opera "Genesi," dedicated to the three UNESCO cities of Friuli-Venezia Giulia (Aquileia, Cividale, and Palmanova). The opera will be released on DVD, a DVD of particular historical, cultural, and touristic significance. The Polifonico's final summer performance will be in Sutrio on Sunday, August 3rd, at 6:00 PM in the Church of Sant'Ulderico, with a sacred program included in the Pro Loco's rich summer program.
