The Choir

The Coro Polifonico di Ruda - Italian male choir - has sung all over the world, winning over 40 first prizes at the most important international choral competitions. Under the direction of Fabiana Noro, the ensemble has specialized in the romantic and contemporary repertoire with specially written compositions by well-known musicians often presented as world premieres. The choir, also active in the publishing field, collaborates with the most popular Italian orchestras for particular symphonic-choral projects. He has been the protagonist of the soundtracks of several films (Là dove senti sing stop! Resina, Isabelle) broadcast by Italian and foreign TV.

1920

The musical and choral activity in Ruda has its roots in the 1920s in the wake of the educational policy promoted by the Habsburg empire which controlled Lower Friuli (Cervignanese) until the end of the First World War. In those decades, personalities such as Ezio Stabile, the brothers Alcide and Alberto Andlovitz and Giovanni Politti distinguished themselves in teaching and didactics.

Easter, 1933

During the Fascist period, choral activity became practically compulsory in schools. Alfonso Mosettig, a teacher from Gradisca d'Isonzo, was the architect of the birth of the Corale di Ruda which held its first concert on Easter day 1933. The program includes music by Mascagni, Verdi, Fetras, Zardini and other Friulian composers.

After the 1945

After the Second World War the choir was reconstituted by Rolando Cian, amateur organist, trade unionist and lover of choral singing. He called the choir Costanza and Concordia which was led by maestro Secondo Delbianco. The first participations in the competitions of the Friulian Philological Society smiled at the group which won several first and second prizes in Friuli Venezia Giulia.

'60s

In the 1960s – after a nice interlude with maestro Tullio Pinat who taught the choir polyphony – maestro Orlando Dipiazza arrived at the helm of the Costanza e Concordia and changed the name of the choir calling it Coro Polifonico di Ruda. The first successes came in national and international competitions (Orvieto, Rome, Arezzo and Ravenna).

Mid 70's

In the mid-1970s, the guide of the Polyphonic was entrusted to the Trieste master Marco Sofianopulo who introduced Gregorian chant into the repertoire. The choir undertook an intense international activity (concerts in Yugoslavia, Austria, Greece, Hungary, Bulgaria and above all federal Germany) without neglecting the competitions (victories in Ravenna, Gorizia and Arezzo again).

'80s

Master Sofianopulo was succeeded by Gianna Visintin who, after three years, left the guide to Andrea Faidutti. The activity became increasingly international (tours in Argentina, Canada, the United States, Mongolia and the Philippines), while collaborations began with various orchestras for the execution of symphonic-choral works of undisputed value (Johannes Brahms, Andrea Mazzucato, Luigi Cherubini , Bartolomeo Cordans, Daniele Zanettovich).

Since 2003

Since 2003 the choir has been directed by Fabiana Noro who at the helm of the ensemble has won the beauty of 34 first prizes as well as prizes for the best interpretations of pieces by contemporary musicians. Several times then Noro has been awarded as best conductor in the various competitions. Two films have been made about his experience at the helm of the Polifonico. Where you hear singing, stop! (Ticofilm) and Resina (Cecchi Gori) whose soundtrack was selected for the 2019 Golden Globes. With Noro the Polyphonic has perfected himself in the romantic and contemporary repertoire.
