Genesi
Genesis is an innovative musical and theatrical project featuring world premiere compositions commissioned by the Coro Polifonico di Ruda from composer Renato Miani. The work—also conceived as a tribute to the UNESCO cities of Aquileia, Cividale del Friuli, and Palmanova—is scheduled to be performed in Friuli Venezia Giulia between late 2026 and the early months of 2027.
Under the supervision of historian Angelo Floramo, three female figures—each the protagonist of a distinct historical event—have been identified, with the aim of raising public awareness about the deeply topical tragedy of femicide.
The score is divided into three tableaux: Roman Aquileia, Lombard Cividale, and Venetian Palmanova. In each section, Floramo places at the center of the stage a female figure—Bassilla for Aquileia, Romilda for Cividale, and Fatma of Bosnia for Palmanova—who becomes the protagonist of the respective musical and theatrical segments, in a crescendo of dramatic intensity that inevitably draws the audience’s attention to the tragedies of everyday life, particularly in contemporary Italy.
