On the morning of Tuesday 27 May, the press conference was held at the headquarters of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region in Udine to illustrate the 2025 season of Concerts in the Basilica organized by the Fondazione Società per la Conservazione della Basilica di Aquileia (So.Co.Ba) and the Coro Polifonico di Ruda. In the presence of the vice president of the Region with responsibility for Culture Mario Anzil, the director of So.Co.Ba Andrea Bellavite, the artistic director Pier Paolo Gratton, the concert curator Sara Zamparo and, in remote connection, the mayor of Aquileia Emanuele Zorino, the ten concerts that will enliven the calendar from June to October were illustrated not only in the Basilica of Aquileia but also in the Basilica of Sant’Eufemia in Grado and at the Sanctuary of Sveta Gora in Slovenia. The leitmotif of the season will be the concerts featuring the main orchestras and choirs of the area such as the FVG Orchestra with the Coro Polifonico di Ruda, the Blanc string orchestra, the Lorenzo Da Ponte Orchestra with the Tiepolo Barocca together with the Venice Monteverdi Academy choir. Added to this is the Multifariam female choir of Ruda that will perform in Grado in August and, with a particular focus on organ music, there will be two internationally renowned concert artists - the Austrian Philipp Pelster and the Belgian Jan Vermeire - who will perform both in Aquileia and in the sanctuary of Sveta Gora. The festival is also characterized by the performance of two inclusive concerts that will feature the orchestra of the Filarmonici Friulani with the Choir Kairos Vox while at the end the blind Polish singer Alina Konarska Schmidt will perform, accompanied by the pianist Aleksander Albert Zielinski, with instruments and technologies dedicated to making the concert accessible to deaf and blind people, or with cognitive disabilities.
The appointment for the opening concert of the season is on Monday 9 June at 8:45 pm with the FVG Orchestra and the Coro Polifonico di Ruda conducted by Maestro Paolo Paroni who will perform, in the first ever performance, the painting dedicated to Aquileia from the opera Genesi, a triptych composed by the Friulian Renato Miani to honor the history of three female figures from the three UNESCO cities of the region (with Cividale del Friuli and Palmanova).
