On Sunday, September 28, at 2:30 pm, at The Cinema Museum, the Polifonico will perform three pieces of music related to the film La Grande Guerra (1959), one of the most famous and significant works by director Mario Monicelli. Filming for the film took place from May 25 to mid-June 1959 and mainly took place in the province of Udine, in Gemona del Friuli, near Venzone, in Sella Sant'Agnese, in the fortress city of Palmanova (now a UNESCO city), and in the Nespoledo district of Lestizza. In 2008, the film was included by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities in the list of 100 Italian films to be saved as works that "changed the collective memory of the country between 1942 and 1978." The feature film will be presented by Paolo Pascolo (President of Fogolar Furlan Great Britain), and will feature Dr. Rosa Mucignat (Professor of Comparative Literature at King's College London). The Great War will be screened in Italian with English subtitles and introduced by Coro Polifonico di Ruda, which will perform: Stelutis Alpinis, Signore delle Cime, and Sui Monti Scarpazi.
