The Coro Polifonico di Ruda took part in the 43rd edition of the Voci d’Europa festival, organized in Sardinia by the Turritano Choir of Porto Torres. It was the third trip to Sardinia for the choir conducted by Fabiana Noro. In previous decades, the Polifonico had performed in Nuoro, Orune and Cagliari, always receiving enthusiastic acclaim from both audiences and critics. The same was true of the two concerts held on this occasion, in Porto Torres and Monteleone Rocca Doria, in the Sassari hinterland. The choir from Ruda presented a wide-ranging programme of 19th- and 20th-century music. Particularly well received was Non potho reposare, an authentic Sardinian emblem. The Polifonico chose to perform the song as a tribute to the festival organizers and to the people of this beautiful Mediterranean island.
