Introducing Genesi, the Work Dedicated to Friuli Venezia Giulia’s UNESCO Cities

Genesi is a work commissioned by the Coro Polifonico di Ruda from composer Renato Miani several years ago. It is dedicated to the three UNESCO cities of Friuli Venezia Giulia (Aquileia, Cividale del Friuli and Palmanova) and addresses the issue of violence against women. Each section portrays a woman closely connected to the city it depicts: the mime Bassilla for Aquileia, Queen Romilda for Cividale del Friuli, and Princess Fatma for Palmanova. Alongside the Polifonico, the performers featured in the work are Aida Talliente (narrator), Elsa Martin (voice), and pianists Ferdinando Mussutto and Matteo Andri. The work is conducted by Fabiana Noro. The world premiere is scheduled for Sunday, 18 October, at 3:30 p.m. at Pordenone Cathedral.
