Fiftieth Anniversary of the Friuli Earthquake
In recent weeks, the Polifonico has been completing rehearsals for the oratorio by Maestro Gianmartino Durighello dedicated to the fiftieth anniversary of the 1976 Friuli earthquake. Joining the Polifonico will also be the voices of the Piccolo Coro Artemia of Torviscosa and the Orchestra Giovanile dei Filarmonici Friulani.
The direction of the oratorio (entitled "Ti ai disegnat sul dret das mes mans") has been entrusted to Maestro Giuliano Medeossi. The work, featuring actor Francesco Pannofino as narrator, will be performed on Sunday 3 May at the Duomo di Venzone (8:45 p.m.) and on Saturday 16 May at the Basilica di Aquileia (8:45 p.m.).
The oratorio intertwines music, poetry, and reflection in order to preserve memory and keep it alive in the present. Through the evocative power of the Psalms, poetic texts, and meditative moments, the project gives voice to universal questions about pain, loss, and the meaning of existence.
An artistic and participatory experience that brings together orchestra, choirs, and spoken word, capable of speaking to all generations and accompanying a profound journey: from material reconstruction to inner rebuilding, and to the rediscovery of the fundamental values of human identity.
