Style, elegance, and refinement: these were the defining qualities of the concert performed by the Coro Giovanile Regionale del Friuli Venezia Giulia, conducted by Fabiana Noro, at the Basilica di Sant'Eufemia in Grado, as part of the 2026 edition of the Concerts in the Basilica organized by the Società per la Conservazione della Basilica di Aquileia in collaboration with the Coro Polifonico di Ruda.
Accompanied on piano by Matteo Di Bella, the choir presented a program centered on poems by Rainer Maria Rilke, Jean Racine, T. S. Eliot, Bede, Emily Dickinson, Charles Baudelaire, and Alda Merini, set to music by Morten Lauridsen, Gabriel Fauré, Mårten Jansson Lindberg, Arvo Pärt, and Friuli Venezia Giulia composers Marco Sofianopulo, Roberto Brisotto, and Alessio Domini.
A particular highlight was the world premiere of Correspondances by the young Friulian composer Alessio Domini, which was met with great enthusiasm by the audience.
The audience’s appreciation led to requests for encores, and two additional pieces were performed, including an engaging work by Coldplay.
