There was great enthusiasm and a large audience for *I canti rocciosi* at the Chiesa di Santa Caterina, which houses the remains of Giuseppe Tartini, the great violinist from Piran. The protagonists were the Coro Polifonico di Ruda, conducted by Fabiana Noro and accompanied by Ferdinando Mussutto (piano), Chiara Trentin (cello), and Gabriele Rampogna (percussion). It was the first time that Giovanni Sollima’s composition had been performed in this trio version, and the experiment proved entirely successful.
Earlier in the evening, the beautiful church in Padua hosted a performance by the Corollario choir conducted by Nunzio Borra, who presented a selection of traditional Sardinian songs. In addition to *I canti rocciosi*, the Polifonico also performed an a cappella piece by Pavel Chesnokov and, as an encore, Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen.
